The state government recently announced plans to establish a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) school, marking a major milestone in India’s digital journey. This initiative follows the launch of the Odisha AI Policy 2025, making Odisha the first state in the country to implement such a forward-thinking framework.

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi shared the news after meeting with leaders from Sarvam, a prominent AI company. The government intends to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) very soon to make this vision a reality. This partnership will focus on sharing knowledge, creating specialized training programs, and building AI tools that can improve public services and governance.
The idea gained momentum after the Chief Minister met with a distinguished professor from Chennai. This professor, originally from Odisha, has received recognition from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his contributions to technology. He proposed the AI institution as a way to give back to his home state, proving that the Odia community is leading the charge in global innovation.

The proposed school is not just another classroom; it is designed to be a center for high-tech excellence. The curriculum will focus on the most in-demand skills in the modern job market, including:
