NAYAGARH: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The Pujyapuja Committee of Nayagarh recently organised a special event to celebrate the birth anniversary of the legendary Odia poet, Jadumani Mahapatra. Known widely by his title "Utkal Ghanta," Jadumani remains one of the most beloved figures in Odia literature, famous for his sharp wit, satire, and profound poetic talent.
During the gathering, the air filled with enthusiastic slogans. Participants chanted, "Utkal Ghanta Byanga Kabi Jadumani, Ama Odia Mati Ma’ra Maudamani," which translates to "The satirist poet Jadumani is the jewel of our Odia motherland." These chants highlighted his unique position as a master of satire and a guardian of the Odia language.
Other active participants included Mansur Mallick, Santosh Kumar Sharma, Rajanikanth Bhuyan, Prashant Kumar Jena, Santosh Kumar Dash, and Ishan Prasad Dash. Their presence underscored the community's commitment to honoring local heroes.
