NAYAGARH: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The historic K.C. Club, the oldest institution of its kind in the district, concluded its five-day centenary celebration on Friday with a grand ceremony. The event marked 100 years of the club’s contribution to local culture and development.
Other key members, including Vice-President Bhabani Shankar Das and Treasurer Sharada Prasad Mohapatra, managed the proceedings.
The celebration ended with a vote of thanks from Vice-President Bhabani Shankar Das, closing a historic chapter for the city of Nayagarh.
Highlights of the Closing Ceremony
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized that social growth and local clubs are two sides of the same coin."Clubs are the heartbeat of social development," the Minister stated.He praised the K.C. Club for its century-long role in enriching Nayagarh. To ensure the club continues to thrive, the Minister announced a significant financial grant to strengthen its infrastructure.

Several prominent figures joined the milestone event to share their insights:- Madhumita Rath (District Collector): Speaking as the keynote speaker, she called the club's sense of brotherhood an "example for others." She promised that the administration would provide special attention to the club's overall growth.
- Dilip Tirkey (President, Hockey India): Attended as a distinguished guest and shared his views on the importance of community institutions.
- Pankaj Lochan Mohanty (President, OCA): Represented the Odisha Cricket Association along with Treasurer Bikash Pradhan.
