Nayagarh: (Report - Ramakrushna Rath): A three-month technical training center has opened today in Nayagarh district for visually impaired young men and women.
​The center is a joint effort. It operates under the local voluntary organization "SEVA", which works for the education, training, and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. The N.A.B. India Center for Blind Women and Disability Study, New Delhi provided financial support for the initiative.

​Focus on Job Skills

​For the first phase, 10 visually impaired young people from various blocks in the district have registered at the center. Technical Trainer Bichitra Pradhan is leading the classes.
​The training will focus on skills that meet current market demands. These include:
  • ​Garment packaging
  • ​Pheneol preparation
  • ​Candle and chalk making
​The main goal of this program is to train the youth and create job opportunities for them in different companies.

​The organizers aim to train and employ 40 visually impaired individuals over four phases within one year. Baikuntha Nath Mahapatra, Chairman of SEVA, and Lokajit Parida, Senior Special Educator, managed the event.
