BHUBANESWAR: In a welcome development for his supporters and the people of Odisha, Mr. Naveen Patnaik, the President of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and a key political figure, has been discharged from a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. The leader was admitted for medical treatment last week and has now been released following a complete recovery, marking an end to a period of concern regarding his health.

Mr. Patnaik received treatment at the medical facility for a condition related to dehydration. According to reports from his office, the 77-year-old leader experienced discomfort due to dehydration on the afternoon of the 17th of this month. Acting on medical advice, he was promptly admitted to the hospital to ensure he received the necessary care and monitoring.

Medical professionals at the hospital provided comprehensive treatment to address his condition. Their expert care, combined with adequate rest, led to a steady and significant improvement in his health. After a series of final check-ups confirmed his full recovery and stable vitals, the hospital authorities granted him a formal discharge. 

Throughout his brief stay at the hospital, the well-being of the BJD president remained a topic of state-wide interest. Demonstrating his characteristic concern for the public, Mr. Patnaik himself addressed the people of Odisha from the hospital. He shared a message to reassure everyone about his improving health and to thank them for their overwhelming support and good wishes, which he acknowledged played a vital role in his swift recovery.

In a significant gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally spoke with Mr. Patnaik over the phone today. The conversation served as a check on his health and well-being following the medical episode. Furthermore, the Odisha Health Minister and the President of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) paid a visit to the hospital to meet with the Chief Minister, showcasing a spirit of solidarity that transcends political differences.
