World Red Cross Day Celebrated in Nayagarh: Blood Donation Camp & Awareness Rally

Nayagarh, May 8, 2025: Today, the district-level World Red Cross Day was celebrated in Nayagarh with great enthusiasm. The event was jointly organised by the District Red Cross and the Red Cross Volunteers Forum, Nayagarh, under the guidance of the District Collector. The celebrations took place in the conference hall of the District Collector’s office.

The day began with an awareness rally at 6:30 AM, starting from the District Collector’s office and proceeding to Brajendra High School before returning. The rally aimed to spread public awareness about the humanitarian work of the Red Cross. Following this, a formal meeting was held at 8:00 AM, which was attended by several dignitaries. Additionally, a blood donation camp was organized at 9:00 AM, where 30 units of blood were collected, showcasing the community’s spirit of service.

Several social workers who have contributed significantly to community service were also honored during the ceremony. The program was skillfully conducted by Ashok Rath, District Public Relations Officer, while Bibhuti Bhushan Pattanayak, the chief advisor of the Red Cross Volunteers Forum, ensured the smooth execution of all activities. 
The celebration highlighted the importance of humanitarian service and encouraged more people to participate in voluntary work. The Red Cross’s efforts in disaster response, health services, and community welfare were emphasized, reinforcing its role as a vital organization in society. 
The District Information and Public Relations Officer, Nayagarh, expressed gratitude to all participants and officials for making the event a success. The day served as a reminder of the power of compassion and collective effort in building a better world.
