Odisha CM Unveils Vision 2036 & 2047: $500 Billion Economy & Inclusive Growth Plan

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended a high-level state consultation workshop at the Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss the roadmap for Vision Odisha 2036 and 2047. The workshop focused on transforming Odisha into a prosperous and inclusive economy while ensuring equitable access to basic amenities for all citizens, particularly the marginalized sections of society. 

Key Goals of Vision 2036 

Under Vision Odisha 2036, the state government has outlined 36 strategic initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable growth. One of the most ambitious targets is elevating Odisha’s economy to a staggering $500 billion (USD). The plan emphasizes bridging socio-economic disparities by ensuring that even the most underprivileged communities have access to fundamental facilities such as healthcare, education, clean water, and employment opportunities.  
Chief Minister Majhi described the vision document as a "roadmap for the dreams of 4.5 crore Odias" and a "promise to future generations." He stressed that the state’s development must be holistic, leaving no one behind. 

Long-Term Vision for 2047 

While Vision 2036 focuses on foundational growth, the extended Vision 2047 aims to position Odisha as a leading economic powerhouse in India. The strategies include boosting industrial development, enhancing digital infrastructure, and promoting innovation-driven entrepreneurship. The CM emphasized that the state must leverage its natural resources, human capital, and cultural heritage to achieve long-term prosperity.  

Public Consultation & Implementation  

The state-level workshop brought together policymakers, economists, and stakeholders to refine the vision document. The government plans to incorporate public feedback before finalizing the action plans. CM Majhi assured that the execution of these programs would be closely monitored to ensure transparency and efficiency.
