Key Developments and New Projects

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the announcement of a new road project worth Rs 28 crore, aimed at improving connectivity in the region. Additionally, several large-scale infrastructure projects—including a 300-bed hospital, a new bus stand, and a railway station—are nearing completion and are expected to be inaugurated soon.
The Chief Minister sought updates from the District Collector and senior officials on various departmental works. He instructed the administration to fast-track slow-moving projects and ensure they are completed on time.

Focus on Key Sectors

During the meeting, Majhi discussed multiple sectors, including rural development, road and transport infrastructure, healthcare, education, irrigation, agriculture, women’s empowerment, and industry. He praised the successful implementation of several government schemes, such as:

  • Public grievance redressal initiatives
“Significant improvements have been made in roads, bridges, drinking water supply, and health and education facilities. I commend the officers and staff for their hard work,” Majhi said.
However, he warned against complacency and stressed the need for stricter inspections to ensure transparency and quality in all projects.

Public Participation and Transparency

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of involving local communities in the development process.
“People must be informed and engaged in these projects. Their feedback is crucial to ensure transparency and community ownership,” he said.

He also acknowledged challenges such as delays in land acquisition, funding shortages, and lack of manpower.
Assuring state-level support, Majhi said, “If necessary, I will personally step in to resolve these issues.”

Prioritising Education, Health, and Agriculture

Majhi directed officials to focus on improving infrastructure in schools and hospitals while modernizing agricultural facilities. He asked them to prepare a detailed action plan to address these priorities.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to good governance, he stated,
“All government schemes must be transparent, and public funds should be used efficiently. Any irregularities will be dealt with strictly.”

Criticism of Previous Government and Future Plans

Taking a dig at the previous administration, Majhi said,

“The former government neglected Boudh’s development. Our government is determined to transform it into a model district.”
