Kolkata: (Reported by Sanatan Mahakud): In a remarkable achievement, the Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) has been crowned the national winner at the prestigious Microsoft CodeForge Hackathon 2025, held on 17th April. Organized by Microsoft in collaboration with the Azure Developer Community, WebForge, and Reskill India, the 12-hour offline hackathon brought together over 2,500 student teams from across the country, making it one of the most competitive tech events of the year.
The competition unfolded in multiple rigorous rounds. Out of the initial 2,500+ participating teams, only 250 advanced to the second round, where they presented their ideas for potential prototype development. The third round saw an even tougher cut, with just 20 teams shortlisted to demonstrate their working prototypes before a panel of expert judges, who evaluated the feasibility, utility, and scalability of each project.

After intense competition, six elite teams made it to the grand finale. Among them, Team CodeForce from the Heritage Institute of Technology stood out, securing the title of National Winner. Their victory marks a moment of immense pride for the entire Heritage family.The winning team, mentored by Prof. Raja Karmakar (Associate Professor & Head, Department of CSE - IoT & Cyber Security including Blockchain Technology), comprised four talented second-year students:
