Brahmapur: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi embarked on a visit to Ganjam district today, where he paid homage to Maa Budhi Thakurani, the revered deity of Brahmapur, and attended the centenary celebrations of a local school. During his visit, the CM made significant announcements, including a massive industrial investment expected to generate employment for thousands of youths in the region.
Darshan at Budhi Thakurani Yatra
The Chief Minister began his tour by offering prayers at the temporary temple of Maa Budhi Thakurani, whose annual festival is in its final stages, concluding tomorrow (April 28). Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to seek the goddess’s blessings, CM Majhi stated,“I consider myself fortunate to have received Maa’s divine grace. Her blessings will guide our new government in building a prosperous Odisha by 2036, when the state celebrates its 100th anniversary.”Accompanied by local leaders, including Brahmapur MP Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy and MLAs K. Anil Kumar and Saroj Kumar Pahi, the CM also admired the traditional Bagh Besha (tiger attire) of the deity, a highlight of the festival.
Centenary Celebrations at Government High School
Later, CM Majhi attended the 100th-anniversary function of Government Unnati High School in Bhimpur, Patrapur block. During his address, he criticized the previous government’s“5T and Mo School” initiatives, calling them “a mockery of education.”
“Under the old scheme, students were enrolled in five schools, but their parents didn’t even know where they were studying. We have replaced such gimmicks with the National Education Policy (NEP), which will ensure quality education and modern infrastructure in every panchayat,” he asserted.
The CM inspected the school’s facilities and promised immediate upgrades, acknowledging the institution’s legacy while emphasizing the need for better amenities. Seven alumni were also honored for their contributions.
Major Industrial Boost for Ganjam
In a landmark announcement, CM Majhi revealed that industries worth ₹1 lakh crore would soon be established in Ganjam, creating 50,000 jobs for local youth.“Our government is committed to transforming Odisha into an industrial hub while preserving its cultural heritage,” he said.
A Government for the People
Highlighting his administration’s pro-people approach, Majhi remarked,“The BJP government is truly a government of the people. Whether it’s attending a small school function or addressing irrigation and healthcare challenges, we are here to deliver.”Before returning to Bhubaneswar, the CM paid condolences to Fisheries Minister Gokulananda Mallik’s family following his mother’s demise.
