Bhubaneswar: The Youth Congress launched a strong protest in the capital city on Monday, raising concerns over the rising prices of essential commodities and increasing unemployment in Odisha. Led by Indian Youth Congress (IYC) national president Uday Bhanu Chib, hundreds of party workers gathered at Lower PMG and attempted to march towards the Chief Minister’s residence, only to be intercepted by the police.

The protest saw a significant turnout of Youth Congress members, who held placards and shouted slogans demanding immediate government intervention. Earlier this month, on January 6, BJD workers staged a similar protest in Bhubaneswar, blaming the Modi government for skyrocketing prices of essential goods and deteriorating economic conditions.

Reacting to the Youth Congress protest, Odisha BJP’s youth wing president Avilash Panda dismissed the agitation, claiming that the Congress is struggling to stay relevant. “Their so-called movement is nothing but a party-driven agenda.
