Odisha Government Strengthens Cooperative Sector: ₹76.80 Crore Capital Aid for PACS and LAMPCS

Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards empowering farmers and economically weaker sections, the Odisha government has decided to strengthen the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and Large Adivasi Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPCS) across the state. The initiative aims to boost financial assistance through cooperative mechanisms, ensuring better agricultural and economic opportunities.

₹76.80 Crore Allocated to Strengthen Cooperatives 

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a proposal to make these newly established cooperative societies more effective. Under this decision, each PACS and LAMPCS will receive ₹5 lakh as capital support, helping them function efficiently. A total of 2,542 PACS and LAMPCS will be supported under this initiative, with a total fund allocation of ₹76.80 crore. 
The financial assistance is expected to enhance the cooperative sector in Odisha, ensuring a stronger institutional framework that benefits farmers and underprivileged communities. 

Empowering Farmers Through Cooperatives 

This move will provide a significant boost to rural credit accessibility, enabling farmers to secure financial resources for their agricultural activities. The state government is focusing on cooperative development to make credit more accessible, strengthen rural enterprises, and ensure financial stability for marginalized sections. 
Chief Minister Majhi expressed confidence that this initiative will empower farmers, boost cooperative institutions, and contribute to the overall economic growth of Odisha.
