CUTTACK, July 22 (Report- Rupashree Shwetapadma Mohanty): The local administration started a drive to stop the illegal sale of tobacco products in the city. A joint team checked multiple locations today. This team included officials from the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), the Excise Department, and the Darghabazar Police Station. 
During the operation, the team raided an Omfed parlor near the Ravenshaw Girls' School. Officials found and seized a large amount of gutkha and tobacco from this shop. The team also inspected several other stores in the Darghabazar police station area. They confiscated large quantities of tobacco products from these shops as well.
Government rules completely ban the sale of tobacco items near educational institutions. The authorities plan to take legal action against the shop owners who break these rules. Department officials announced that they will continue these inspection raids in the coming days.
