NIMAPADA, July 24: (Report- Ajaya Mallik): The residents of Bhodar village in the Nimapada block of Puri district successfully organised the Bahuda Yatra. This local event took place on the same day as the main return chariot festival in the city of Puri. The villagers of Bhodar took full responsibility for organising the chariot festival. A key part of the event was the 'Chhera Pahanra' ritual. Sabyasachi Ray Chudamani, a member of the traditional Chudamani family of the village, performed this duty. He swept the floor of the chariot before the main journey began. 
After completing a nine-day schedule, the villagers pulled the chariot back to its original place. They started pulling the chariot from the Bhagabat Thakur temple located in the Nalabag area. They pulled the chariot along the local roads until it reached the Raghunath Jew temple in Bhodar.
This year's festival holds special importance for the local community. The village organised this chariot pulling after a long gap of 50 years. The young people of the village worked together to make this event happen. Their joint work successfully revived an old local tradition.
Many visitors from different villages across the panchayat came to Bhodar. They gathered to see Lord Jagannath seated on the chariot. The visitors offered prayers for the safety and welfare of their families and the general public.
The local police administration took necessary steps to maintain security. Officers from the Charichhak Police Station conducted strict patrolling throughout the area. They monitored the crowd and controlled the traffic during the chariot pulling.
The organisers also shared the schedule for the upcoming days. The priests will organize the 'Suna Besha' ritual tomorrow. During this ritual, they will decorate the deities with gold ornaments. On Sunday, the priests will offer a special drink known as 'Adhara Pana' to the deities. After finishing all these rituals, the priests will carry the deities back into the Raghunath Jew temple and place them on the main throne.
