NAYAGARH, June 25, 2026 (Reported by Ramakrishna Rath): The Nayagarh district administration took a major step today to protect public health and promote a safe society. District Collector Madhumita Rath inaugurated a special awareness chariot at the Collector office campus. The officials organized this important event to mark the International Week Against Substance Abuse and Illegal Trading. 
Nayagarh Goes Healthy: Special Awareness Chariot Hits the Road Across 8 Blocks!


The special awareness chariot will travel across all eight blocks of the Nayagarh district. It carries a clear and vital message for the public. The campaign aims to educate ordinary citizens about the negative impacts of consuming harmful substances. The district administration wants to protect young people and families from falling into dangerous habits. The mobile chariot will reach remote villages and busy markets to spread the message of healthy and safe living.
During the launch event, Collector Madhumita Rath addressed the public and the local media. She shared a very strong and positive message with everyone present. She stated that good health is the most valuable asset in human life. Using harmful substances completely destroys this precious asset. She also warned the public about the strict laws and severe punishments for the illegal trading of these goods. She requested all citizens to unite and say "no" to harmful habits for the greater good of society.
The District Social Security Department and the District Administration jointly organized this successful event. District Social Security Officer Sarbeswar Panigrahi managed and supervised the entire program perfectly. Many prominent officials attended the launch ceremony to show their support. Additional District Magistrate Rozina Das and Sub-Collector Karnadev Samaddar actively participated in the event. Excise Deputy Superintendent Prakash Saha and Excise Mobile Squad Inspector Ramesh Chandra Mohanty also joined the gathering. Many dedicated staff members from the district excise department stood beside them.
The District Excise Superintendent could not attend the local event today. He had to join an urgent video conference meeting called by the state government. Despite his absence, the program achieved great success. Local citizens gathered in large numbers to support this noble social cause. The people of Nayagarh highly praised this joint effort by the local authorities.
