Bhanjanagar holds a special place in regional literature. People know it as the land of the legendary poet Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja. The Rotary Club wanted to respect this rich cultural heritage. They decided to celebrate the people who keep this literary tradition alive today. The club honored more than forty local personalities during the ceremony. This was the first time an organisation brought so many local poets together in Bhanjanagar.
Literature plays a big role in building a good society. Poets express human feelings and social truths through their writings. The Rotary Club understands this important value. By honoring these writers, the club encourages the younger generation to read and write more. Everyone hopes that similar events will take place in the future. Such programs will surely keep the rich literary heritage of Bhanjanagar alive for many years to come.
