Cuttack, June 19 (Rupashree Swetapadma Mohanty): The district-level convention ‘Vikashara Dhara Odisha Sara’ was held at Netaji Sanskriti Bhawan, Odia Bazar, on Thursday to mark the completion of two years of the state government and highlight its developmental initiatives and achievements.

At the outset, Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde delivered the welcome address and presented the vision for Viksit Cuttack-2036. He also briefed the gathering on the district-level implementation of various state welfare schemes.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo attended as the chief guest and presented a detailed account of the government’s ongoing projects. He emphasized that the administration has been working continuously to meet public needs and ensure the all-round development of Odisha.

The Deputy CM noted that targeted policy interventions in agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, women empowerment, and youth welfare are yielding visible results. He pointed to the expansion of irrigation coverage, infrastructure upgrades in schools, strengthened healthcare facilities, and improved rural road networks as key milestones. He added that the continuation and reinforcement of state initiatives like Mission Shakti and robust skill development programs have expanded economic opportunities for women and youth alike.
On power supply, he said four new grid connections have been commissioned, and solar facilities are being extended under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. He added that cards have been distributed to farmers under the CM Kisan scheme. Vegetables from Badamba, Banki, and Athagarh are now being exported abroad, he said. Citing low rainfall due to El Niño, he stressed the use of short-duration, high-yielding seed varieties.
Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, Barabati-Cuttack MLA Er. Sofia Firdous, Niali MLA Chhabi Malik, Cuttack Sadar MLA Er. Prakash Chandra Sethi, and BJP Cuttack District (Rural) President Ram Narayan Mohanty attended as guests of honour.

MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai stated that the government aims to boost small and medium industries while ensuring that drinking water, old-age pensions, electricity, and other essential services reach every individual in the state. MLAs Chhabi Malik and Prakash Chandra Sethi highlighted the development trajectory of the state government, adding that steps are actively being taken for the comprehensive growth of Cuttack district in line with the vision of Viksit Odisha-2036.

Senior district officials, PRI members, block-level officers, SHG members, and beneficiaries of various government schemes participated in the convention. An exhibition showcasing department-wise achievements and beneficiary testimonials was also organized on the occasion. A large number of people visited the stall and learned about the benefits of the schemes.
