Bhubaneswar, May 1, 2026 (Report- Lipikarani Raut): Naveen Patnaik honored two outstanding women village leaders today. He currently serves as the Leader of the Opposition and the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Hinjili. He invited the leaders to his home, Naveen Niwas, in Bhubaneswar. He praised them for their excellent work in rural development. 
Two local villages achieved amazing results in this report:
Mr. Patnaik thanked the women for bringing great glory to the state of Odisha. He told them that their honest work helps the whole community grow. He encouraged them to keep working hard to improve the lives of the village people.

National Recognition for Local Villages
The leaders represent villages in the Hinjili area of the Ganjam district. The central government recently published the Panchayat Development Index report for the years 2023 and 2024. This national report checks and ranks the progress of villages across India.Two local villages achieved amazing results in this report:
- Pochilima Panchayat: The central government named Pochilima the best village council in the entire country. Sarpanch Ranjita Kumari Das leads this village. She worked with her team to secure this top national rank.
- Belagaon Panchayat: The government recognized Belagaon for its outstanding drinking water supply system. Sarpanch Lakshmi Sahu leads this village. She successfully ensured that families receive clean and safe water.
The Felicitation Ceremony
Naveen Patnaik felt very proud of these huge achievements. He hosted a special event to celebrate their hard work and dedication. During the event, he officially honored Sarpanch Lakshmi Sahu and Sarpanch Ranjita Kumari Das.
