One special mango quickly caught everyone's eye. It was the bright red 'Similton Sundari' mango from the Mayurbhanj district. People also felt surprised when they saw the 'Miyazaki' mango. This famous global variety sells for more than 1,000 rupees per kilo in international markets. Local farmers now successfully grow this rare fruit right here in Odisha.
The exhibition highlighted many other local favorites as well. Keonjhar district proudly presented the 'Baladev' mango. Balangir district showcased the tasty 'Jahangir' variety. Dhenkanal district brought the 'Belagaja' mango. The stalls also featured modern hybrid types. Visitors learned about new varieties like Arka Neelachal, Keshari, Arka Puneet, Arka Suprabhat, Arka Uday, and Ambika. These new types prove that local farmers use great skill and modern science today.
Odisha has a perfect climate for growing fruit. Progressive farmers work very hard in their fields every single day. Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) also manage the business side very well. Because of these three factors, mango production in the state has improved rapidly. The quality of the fruit gets better every year.
