Bhubaneswar: Delhi Police arrested a 22-year-old man from Bhubaneswar today. The arrested man is Sheikh Imran. He lives in the Unit-6 area of the city. A special team from Delhi caught him. The local Commissionerate Police helped the Delhi team with this operation.
Officers accuse Imran of sharing harmful and unlawful messages on social media. The police state that these online posts threaten the safety of the country.
A week ago, Delhi Police arrested a few other young men. These men also shared similar concerning content on various online platforms. Investigators recently found a connection between Imran and this group. Imran talked to them using WhatsApp and other social media apps.
According to the police, the group regularly posted highly inappropriate materials online. Officers believe these actions put national safety at risk.
After the arrest today, officers presented Imran at the local SDJM court in Bhubaneswar. The court gave the police permission to take him on a transit remand for further investigation.
