Bhubaneswar: (11/04) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi started his three-day visit to the Keonjhar district today. He attended several public events. He also launched many new development projects on his first day. These projects aim to improve travel, education, and road safety for the local people.
Arrival and Temple Visit
The Chief Minister arrived at the Bodapalasa football ground at 11:30 AM by helicopter. From the helipad, he went directly to the nearby Chandrashekhar temple. He offered his prayers at the temple. The temple committee members welcomed him warmly with a grand reception.Inauguration of the Aradei Stream Bridge
After the temple visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated a new bridge. Engineers built this new bridge over the Aradei stream. The people of Bodapalasa Gram Panchayat and five nearby panchayats waited a long time for this project.- More than 5,000 local residents will now use this bridge for their daily travel.
- The Chief Minister spoke to the public during the event and stated that the villagers will no longer face travel problems.
- The new bridge is over 100 meters long, giving a new identity to the Keonjhar Sadar area.
School Centenary and Education Announcements
Next, the Chief Minister attended the 100th-anniversary celebration of the Chandrashekhar Government High School in Bodapalasa. He joined the event as the chief guest. He praised the teachers during his speech. He said that teachers do more than just teach school subjects. They build the character of the students and guide them on the right path in life.- The Chief Minister made several big announcements for the school and the state:
- He announced a special fund of 3 crore rupees for the school to improve its buildings and facilities.
- He ordered the district administration to give 7 acres of land to the school.
- He explained that the government hired about 20,000 new teachers in the last year and a half.
- The state is currently in the process of hiring 45,000 more teachers.
- The government also made the jobs of 13,000 schematic teachers permanent.
New Highway Underpass for Better Traffic
Later in the day, the Chief Minister opened a newly built underpass at Langalakanti in Keonjhar. Builders constructed this underpass on the Panikoili-Rimuli section of National Highway 20 (NH-20). He took this step to improve road safety and make traffic move smoother. NH-20 is a very important road because it connects major industrial, mining, and business areas in the state. The new underpass will reduce heavy traffic in local areas like Tikira, Dhenkikot, and Barabeda. It works as a grade separator to keep vehicles moving without stops. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the underpass will ensure smooth transport and provide a safe crossing path for local pedestrians.
