Sinapali, March 27: (Report - Malaya Meher): The renowned literary and cultural festival of Nuapada district, Udanti Mahotsav, was inaugurated in a grand and dignified atmosphere. On the first evening of the three-day festival, the audience was mesmerized by captivating folk performances and swayed to the rhythmic beats of dhol and nishan.
The inaugural ceremony, held at Sinapali, was organized in a well-coordinated manner. Shri Atul Kumar Patra welcomed the guests to the stage and introduced them. This was followed by traditional rituals including Deva Pujan and Vedic chanting conducted by the representatives of Shri Jagannath Temple, Sinapali.
The event began with a melodious opening performance by Shri Chudamani Meher and his team. The proceedings were smoothly conducted under the Supervision of Shri Rabindranath Joshi.
Several distinguished guests graced the occasion and delivered their addresses, including Advisor Shashibhushan Majhi, Meena Ghivela, Pushpanjali Nanda, Premashila Nag, Asha Jain, Pushpanjali Gual, Sunita Meher, Dr. Sriman Sahu, Upendra Pradhan, and Ajij Khan.
On this occasion, the District Collector Shri Madhusudan Das attended as the chief dignitary, while Zilla Parishad Chairperson Smt. Doli Majhi joined as the chief guest. Both highlighted the cultural significance and importance of such festivals in preserving local heritage.
Towards the end of the session, the presidency Shri Rabindranath Joshi delivered his concluding remarks. Under the supervision of Shri Premananda Meher, mementos were presented and awards were distributed to deserving participants. The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Subash Sahu.
The festival officially commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the guests. Following this, renowned local folk troupes performed vibrant dances accompanied by dhol and nishan, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The rhythmic beats and colorful lighting transformed the venue into a festive spectacle.
A large number of people from nearby and surrounding areas gathered to witness and enjoy the festival. The youth and cultural enthusiasts, in particular, were enthralled by the energetic performances.
