BHUBANESWAR: Odisha’s economy has shown steady progress during the 2024-25 financial year. According to the latest report from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, the state recorded a growth rate of 11.40%.
Atul Prakash, the Accountant General (AG), released the findings during a press conference in Bhubaneswar. The report highlights that Odisha maintained a revenue surplus of ₹22,651 crore during this period.

Key Financial Highlights
The report outlines several positive shifts in the state's financial health:- Higher Revenue Collection: The state collected a total revenue of ₹1,83,963 crore in 2024-25. This marks a 2.43% increase compared to the previous year.
- Budget Expansion: The total budget size has grown significantly. It rose from ₹1,67,663 crore in 2020-21 to ₹2,87,770 crore in 2024-25, representing a massive 71.64% increase.
- Spending Trends: Between 2020 and 2025, the state’s revenue expenditure consistently stayed above 82% of its total revenue receipts.
