Nischintakoili: (Report- Sishukrishna Nanda): Police have arrested a clever robber who targeted commuters on lonely stretches of the highway. The suspect, identified as Papu Singh from the Singarpur area of Jagatsinghpur, was caught following a detailed investigation by the Nischintakoili police.

The Modus Operandi

The robber used a specific trick to trap his victims. He would drive his car alongside a target and suddenly pull in front of them to force a stop. He would then pick a fight, accusing the driver of "cutting him off" or driving dangerously. Once the victim was stopped in a secluded spot, he would threaten them with a long knife (bhujali) and steal their belongings.

The Investigation

The arrest follows two recent reports of robberies executed in this exact style within the Nischintakoili police limits. After tracking leads, the police conducted a raid and took Singh into custody. 


Items Recovered

During a press meet, the Salepur SDPO confirmed that the police seized the following items from the suspect:
One car and one scooter used in the crimes.
  • ₹15,000 in cash.
  • Two mobile phones.
  • One sharp weapon (bhujali).
The police are now investigating if the suspect is linked to other similar crimes in the district.
