NAYAGARH: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The Nayagarh District Congress Committee (DCC) has filed an official police complaint against two Union Ministers and a BJP MP. The move comes as a protest against alleged verbal abuse directed at the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
Nayagarh Congress Files Police Complaint Against BJP Ministers

District Congress President Ranjit Dash submitted the written complaint to the Nayagarh Town Police Station. Several senior party members and youth leaders accompanied him.

Key Allegations and Demands

The Congress party expressed strong resentment over recent statements made by BJP leaders. The main points of the dispute include:
  • Verbal Attacks on Rahul Gandhi: The DCC alleged that BJP leaders have made it a habit to use offensive language against Rahul Gandhi. They specifically criticized Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju for labeling Gandhi a "threat to national security."
  • The 'Epstein Files' Controversy: The Congress leaders highlighted the alleged mention of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s name in the controversial "Epstein Files." They argued that Puri should have resigned on moral grounds after admitting to meeting the individual in question multiple times.
  • Demand for Action: The party is demanding the immediate arrest of Hardeep Singh Puri. They are also seeking strict action against Kiren Rijiju and MP Nishikant Dubey for their comments.

Protests and Leadership

The Congress party claims that the BJP is using defamatory tactics to distract the public from serious allegations involving its own ministers. According to the DCC, these actions are an attempt to suppress the voice of the opposition in a democracy.
The delegation at the police station included several prominent local leaders, including:
  • Fakir Charan Malla (DCC Vice President)
  • Binidini Mohanty (DCC Vice President)
  • Brajakishore Lenka (General Secretary)
  • Pratik Mohapatra (State Youth Congress Secretary)
The party has called for a formal investigation into the Epstein case and has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek the resignation of the involved ministers.
