During the meeting, leaders highlighted that while government pension schemes for journalists are often lacking, "Voice of Media" has taken concrete steps to help. Key initiatives discussed include:
  • Monthly Pension: The organisation will provide a monthly allowance of 1,500 rupees to journalists over the age of 60.
  • Education Support: They will offer free higher education facilities for the children of journalists.
  • Healthcare: The organisation has committed to providing free healthcare services for its members.
  • Safety First: New measures were introduced to ensure the physical and professional safety of reporters on the ground.

A Call for Unity

The speakers urged all journalists to remain united. They emphasized that collective strength is necessary to protect their rights and improve their living standards.
