Nayagarh: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath):  The Nayagarh Municipality distributed work orders to 68 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) today. The distribution ceremony took place at the Pathani Samanta Auditorium in Nayagarh.

Increased Financial Assistance

The government has updated the funding for this housing scheme. Previously, the scheme provided ₹2 lakh to each beneficiary. Now, the amount has increased by ₹50,000. Beneficiaries will now receive a total of ₹2.5 lakh to build their homes.

MLA Encourages Timely Construction

Nayagarh MLA Dr. Arun Sahoo attended the program as the Chief Guest. He handed over the work orders to the recipients from various wards.
During his address, Dr. Sahoo offered important advice to the beneficiaries:
  • Bonus Incentive: He encouraged them to complete construction before the deadline. Beneficiaries who finish early will receive an additional incentive of ₹20,000.
  • Timely Payments: He instructed officials to ensure the smooth release of funds so that beneficiaries receive their money on time.

Dignitaries and Organisers

Several key officials attended the event as Guests of Honour, including Municipality Chairperson Nirupama Khatei, Vice-Chairperson Guruprasad Jena, and various Councilors.
Municipality Executive Officer Snehalata Acharya delivered the welcome address. A senior journalist coordinated the stage proceedings, and municipality employees assisted in managing the program.
