NAYAGARH: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): The lively and energetic two-day District Athletic Meet 2025 came to a successful end on Wednesday, November 10, 2025. The Nayagarh District Athletic Association organised this major sporting event. The competition took place at the local PTS Ground in Nayagarh. The event brought together sports lovers, officials, and young athletes from across the region for a celebration of physical fitness and skill.

Many promising young athletes from various parts of the district participated in the meet. They showcased their talents in different track and field events. The ground buzzed with excitement as the competitors displayed their skills and sportsmanship. This event provided a vital platform for the youth to demonstrate their potential and compete at a district level.
The closing ceremony was the highlight of the final day. Er. Debashish Patnaik, the President of the District Council (Zilla Parishad), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He addressed the gathering and encouraged the young participants to continue their journey in sports. During the ceremony, he presented awards to the winners. The successful athletes received certificates and medals for their outstanding performance in various categories of the competition.
Senior journalist Ramkrushna Rath played a key role in the event. He coordinated the prize distribution ceremony and ensured the program flowed smoothly. Kanti Ranjan Sahu joined the event as the Guest of Honour. He is the Principal of the Government ITI College located in Khuntubandha. His presence added to the significance of the closing function.
The entire event ran under the direct supervision of Ashesh Das, the Secretary of the District Athletic Association. His guidance ensured the meet was well-organised. Several other dedicated members of the association worked hard to make the event a success. Key contributors included Bhavani Shankar Das, Binayak Prasad Rao, Sarada Prasad Mahapatra, and Nishikant Mohanty. Additionally, various Physical Education Teachers (PETs) and coaches from the district actively led the activities and supported the athletes throughout the two days.
The District Athletic Meet 2025 concluded on a positive note, leaving the participants and organisers with happy memories and a renewed commitment to sports development in Nayagarh.
