Nayagarh: (Report- Ramakrushna Rath): Nayagarh observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities - 2025 on December 3, 2025, with a massive celebration. The District Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Office organised the successful event at the Nayagarh Stadium. The celebration successfully raised awareness and honored the achievements of people with disabilities.
Following the rally, the action moved to the Nayagarh Stadium. Special children enthusiastically participated in various sports and cultural competitions. These events showcased their talents and competitive spirit. Officials presented awards to the winners in a special ceremony afterwards.
Several other senior officials also participated in the function. The Additional District Collector, the Sub-Collector of Nayagarh, the Sports Officer, and the District Information and Public Relations Officer all attended. They provided essential information regarding the welfare of people with disabilities. They stressed the need to include people with disabilities in the mainstream of society.
Special schools from Nayagarh district, volunteers from various NGOs, and students and staff from the Samagra Shiksha program all actively participated. Their involvement made the program a great success. Finally, Sub-Divisional Social Security Officer Mr. Kamadev Nayak concluded the meeting. He delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the members and journalists present.
Awareness Rally and Sports Competitions
The day started early at 8:00 AM. The Additional District Education Officer and the District Social Security Officer flagged off a vital awareness rally. The rally moved from the Collector's Office to Trinath Chowk in Nayagarh, attracting many participants.Following the rally, the action moved to the Nayagarh Stadium. Honoring Para-Athletes for National Pride
The event placed a strong focus on recognizing individuals who brought honor to the state and the country in para-sports. Officials honored three exceptional competitors: Lina Swain (Bhapura), Pramod Kumar Sahoo (Nuagaon), and Ananya Swain (Nuagaon). They presented the athletes with certificates of appreciation. The Chief Guest also distributed a cash prize of ₹1,000/- to each of these accomplished athletes.Inspirational Speeches and Future Plans
