Daspalla: (Report- Subash Chandra Barik): In a significant community outreach effort, Indian political workers convened two detailed meetings on October 6, 2025, to discuss and propagate the central government's development schemes and the vision of an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India). The meetings, held in the Ghugudipada and Nachhipur areas, focused on a wide range of government initiatives aimed at holistic development and fostering self-reliance at the grassroots level.
The gatherings were part of a nationwide call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote indigenous products and sustainable development. The first meeting took place in the courtyard of the Shiva Temple in Ghugudipada, while the second was held in an open field near the Pathuriya Station in Nachhipur Gram Panchayat. Both sessions saw the participation of numerous local party workers and leaders.
Focus on Sustainable Development and Civic Action
In Ghugudipada, the meeting concluded with a civic action drive. Attendees participated in a tree plantation ceremony, planting an Anla (Indian Gooseberry) tree within the temple premises. The assembly also engaged in discussions about the Swachh Tree Seva (Cleanliness and Tree Service), emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and community cleanliness as integral parts of sustainable development.Leadership and Key Attendees
The meetings were conducted under the leadership of the area's Member of Parliament, Honorable Sukant Kumar Panigrahi. Key functionaries present included Block Representative Shri Kishore Chandra Dalbehera, Mandal President Bhagya Laxmi Dash, and several other prominent local workers such as Gyan Ranjan Sahoo, Bidesh Malick, Vijay Ketan Satapathy, Anirodh Sahu, Gouranga Dehuri, Alekh Nayak, Banamb Nayak, Gopinath Sahu, and Vijay Bagh.In the Nachhipur Gram meeting, attendees included workers like Padma Pradhan, Sarat Sahu, Phagua Pradhan, and Sansari Sahu, demonstrating strong local engagement with the government's initiatives.
Comprehensive Overview of Development Schemes
A central aim of the gatherings was to familiarize local workers with the various public welfare schemes of the "Double Engine Government" – a reference to the same party being in power at both the central and state levels. This knowledge enables them to better assist their communities. The discussions covered a wide spectrum of areas:· Housing and Infrastructure: Detailed information was provided on the Antyodaya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister's Housing Scheme), and the PM & CM Sadak Yojana (Road Development Schemes), highlighting efforts to improve connectivity and housing, especially in tribal areas.
· Health and Finance: The benefits of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance card and the Subhadra Yojana were explained to ensure residents can access financial and healthcare security.
· Social Welfare and Education: The principle of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas" (Collective Efforts, Growth for All) was underscored. The meetings stressed the importance of sharing in the happiness and sorrows of the common people, helping the downtrodden and oppressed, and providing free educational facilities to children.
· Cultural Preservation and Tourism: Steps to preserve local culture and tradition were discussed, along with plans for the improvement and security of monasteries, temples, and tourist spots.
· Tribal Development and Honoring Martyrs: Special emphasis was placed on development programs for tribal regions and paying respect to martyred soldiers.
Reigniting the Swadeshi Spirit
A major theme of the meetings was the promotion of a self-reliant India. Workers were encouraged to use Swadeshi (indigenous) products and to campaign for every household to become conscious of the benefits of going local. This initiative connects today's Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign to the historical Swadeshi movement, which was a form of economic resistance and self-sufficiency during India's independence struggle. The movement has evolved over time, with current policies aiming to make India a larger part of the global economy while strengthening domestic production.
Following the comprehensive discussions, Block Representative Shri Kishore Chandra Dalbehera formally concluded the meetings by thanking all the attendees for their participation.
