JAGANNATH PRASAD: (Report- Dillip Kumar Sadangi): In a significant step towards enhancing educational and sports facilities in the region, the foundation stone for a new additional classroom block and laboratory complex was laid at Jagannath Prasad Anchalika Degree College. The ceremony, held on the college premises, marked a new chapter in the institution's development.
Honorable MLA Pradyumn Kumar Nayak presided over the event as the chief guest. The function was also attended by Jagannath Prasad Block Vice-Chairman, Nilanchala Khilar, Anchalik Degree collage Principal Sanatan Sahoo, Anchlik Higher Secondary High School Principal Nrusingh Charan Pradhan all college staff along with faculty members, students, and local dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Pradyumn Kumar Nayak emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure in rural areas.

"This is another golden chapter in our promise of public service. Today, I participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the additional classroom and laboratory at Jagannath Prasad Anchalika Mahavidyalaya," he stated. He added, "I also held discussions with learned individuals on how we can guide future generations on the path of progress."The day was packed with developmental activities aimed at holistic student growth. In a fitting start to the celebrations, the dignitaries flagged off a bi-cycle marathon race to mark the occasion of Sports Day, promoting fitness and sportsmanship among the youth.
Beyond the foundation ceremony, the MLA inaugurated several other crucial facilities that are set to directly benefit the student community. These included a new e-Library, an Information Technology (IT) cell, and a dedicated athletes' rest house. The inauguration of these facilities is expected to provide students with modern resources for academic research, digital literacy, and adequate rest between training sessions.
During a special meeting organized at the college, MLA Nayak addressed the gathered students and faculty. In his speech, he encouraged students to excel in both their academic and athletic pursuits. He offered guidance on how they can build a bright future and become contributors to society.
Established in 1996, Anchalika Degree College is a government-affiliated institution that has been a cornerstone of higher education in the Jagannath Prasad block. It offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree program with specializations in core subjects such as Political Science, History, Economics, Odia, and Sanskrit.
The addition of the new infrastructure is anticipated to significantly reduce classroom overcrowding, provide a modern space for scientific experiments, and create a more conducive learning environment. This initiative is widely seen as a move to elevate the quality of education and provide local students with facilities on par with urban institutions, ultimately empowering the youth of Ganjam district.
