Daspalla: (Report- Subash Chandra Barik): A comprehensive awareness program was organized at the Community Health Center in Madhyakhanda, Daspalla, to tackle the rising cases of diarrhoea, malaria, and dengue in the region. The event, chaired by Community Development Officer Shri Bhubanananda Pattanayak, brought together health officials, local representatives, and frontline workers to educate the public on preventive measures.
This initiative marks a proactive step toward disease prevention and community health resilience in Daspalla.
Key Initiatives Highlighted
Under the Stop Diarrhoea Campaign, Block Program Manager (BPM) Shri Tushar Ranjan Sahoo outlined crucial steps to curb the spread of diseases:- ORS and Zinc Tablet Distribution: ASHA and Anganwadi workers are distributing ORS packets and zinc tablets to households with children under five.
- Regular Mosquito Net Use: Residents were urged to sleep under mosquito nets to prevent malaria and dengue.
- Cleanliness Drives: Emphasis was placed on maintaining clean surroundings and proper handwashing techniques.
- Water Testing & Purification: The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) is ensuring safe drinking water by testing and treating wells and public water sources.
Multi-Departmental Coordination
Block Development Officer (BDO) highlighted ongoing efforts by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) department to monitor water quality. PHEO Shri Purnachandra Kabi advised against consuming stale food and untreated water.Emergency Response
