Bhubaneswar: In a major boost for Mayurbhanj’s development, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for projects worth over ₹420 crore across the district. 
Odisha CM Announces 10,000 Cr Industries & 420 Cr Development for Mayurbhanj

The ceremonies, held in Bishoi, also saw the announcement of a new +2 college and the renaming of the Bishoi Mini Stadium after freedom fighter Mahapurusha Dharani Dhara Naik, with a statue to be installed in his honor.  

Key Development Initiatives  

  • 133 projects worth ₹328 crore inaugurated, covering rural drinking water, school upgrades, healthcare, and road construction.  
  • 52 new projects worth ₹91 crore launched, including tribal cultural centers and banking facilities.  
Addressing a public gathering, CM Majhi stated that these initiatives mark a transformative phase for Mayurbhanj, particularly benefiting regions like Rairangpur, Kusumi, Bijatala, Bahalda, Jamda, and Tiring.  

Government’s Achievements in 11 Months  

  • Reopened all gates of Jagannath Temple.  
  • Launched Subhadra Yojana, benefiting over 1 crore women.  
  • Created 1.7 lakh "Lakhpati Didis" (women earning ₹1+ lakh annually).  
  • Increased paddy MSP to ₹3,100 per quintal after 24 years.  
  • Introduced CM Kisan Yojana for farmer support.  

Industrial Growth & Future Plans  

Majhi revealed ambitious plans for ₹10,000 crore industrial investments in Mayurbhanj, promising job creation and economic growth. The government’s "36 for 36" roadmap aims to drive progress in education, healthcare, and infrastructure by 2036, ensuring basic amenities for marginalized communities.  

Transparency & Empowerment  

The CM emphasized systemic reforms for prompt grievance redressal and highlighted rural women’s financial independence as a sign of Odisha’s evolving economy.  

Aid Distribution  

During the event, Majhi disbursed:  
  • Death assistance funds.  
  • Marriage incentives for laborers’ daughters.  
  • ₹10 lakh grants to women’s self-help groups.

The event was attended by Housing Minister Dr. Krishnachandra Mahapatra, Forest Minister Ganeshram Singhkhuntia, MPs Mamata Mahanta and Pratap Chandra Sarangi, and several MLAs.
