In a shocking incident early this morning, a group of eight armed miscreants targeted a pedestrian near Sakeni village under Daspalla police limits. The criminals, arriving in a black Scorpio, stopped the victim—a bike rider—and attacked him with sharp weapons before robbing him of ₹700. To add to the horror, they set his bike on fire by the roadside and fled the scene.
The victim, identified as Jatia Behera from Khandapada village, was on his way to Bhanjanagar for work when the attack occurred. Locals found him bleeding profusely and rushed him to the Daspalla Community Health Center, where he is currently battling serious injuries.
