The prestigious 5 Star Odia Film Awards 2025 was held in Singapore, honoring outstanding contributions to the Odia film industry. Organised by RR Events and Cine Productions in collaboration with the Singapore Odia Society, the grand ceremony recognised talents across 32 categories, with the blockbuster film "Pabar" emerging as the biggest winner of the night.

Lifetime Achievement for Filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra  

The highlight of the evening was the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to National Award-winning filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra. Known for his impactful storytelling and international acclaim, Mohapatra was honored for his lifelong dedication to Odia cinema. His works have not only entertained audiences but also brought Odia films to global recognition.  

"Pabar" Dominates the Awards  

The critically acclaimed film "Pabar"swept multiple awards, including:  
  • Best Film  – Pabar
  • Best Director – Ashok Pati  
  • Best Actor (Male) – Babusan  
  • Best Actor (Female) – Elina Samantaray  
  • Best Music Director – Gaurav Anand  
The film’s success highlights the growing quality and creativity in Odia cinema, with its compelling narrative and stellar performances.

Global Expansion of the Awards  

Previously held in Dubai, the 5 Star Film Awards 2025 marked its debut in Singapore. Organisers announced that the next edition will take place in London in 2026, showcasing Odia cinema’s growing international presence.  
This year’s awards not only celebrated talent but also reinforced the Odia film industry’s commitment to excellence and global outreach. With films like "Pabar" leading the way, Odia cinema continues to reach new heights, captivating audiences worldwide.
