Kolkata: (Reported by Sanatan Mahakud) – The Vivekananda Kendra family is overjoyed to announce a momentous achievement by two of its bright young minds. D. Lekha and Manav Halder, students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sri Vijaypuram, have been selected for the highly coveted ISRO Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA-2025). This remarkable feat places them among an elite group of students chosen from across India to participate in this prestigious initiative.

A Highly Competitive Selection 

The Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA), organized by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is designed to nurture young talent in the fields of space science, technology, and research. This year, out of 350 exceptional Class 9 students from all over India, only seven were selected from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The fact that two of these selected students hail from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya is a testament to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. 

A Life-Changing Opportunity 

D. Lekha and Manav Halder will embark on a 12-day residential camp from May 18th to May 31st, where they will have the rare opportunity to:

  • Engage in hands-on experiments, workshops, and interactive sessions on space science, robotics, and STEM education.
