Daspalla Bar Association Observes Utkal Divas with Intellectual Discourse

Daspalla: (Report- Subash Chandra Barik): The Daspalla Lawyers’ Association marked Utkal Divas (Odisha Day) with a thought-provoking discussion session, emphasizing the preservation of Odisha’s unity, cultural heritage, and linguistic identity.

Presided over by the association’s president, Mr. Sushant Kumar Patra, the event was coordinated by secretary Mr. Sarat Chandra Behera, who set the tone by highlighting the historical significance of Utkal Divas. He urged intellectuals and citizens to uphold the hard-earned integrity of Odisha and remain vigilant against divisive forces. 
Prominent advocate Mr. Gaur Chandra Mishra cautioned against external threats to Odisha’s unity and called for concerted efforts to protect Odia language and culture. Legal expert Mr. Krishna Chandra Das shed light on the historical context of Utkal Divas, while educationist Prof. Prafulla Kumar Barik reiterated the relevance of Madhu Babu’s (Madhusudan Das) vision for Odia identity, reciting a poignant poem dedicated to the sons of Utkal. 
The discussion also saw active participation from social worker Mr. Prasanna Kumar Panda, advocate Mr. Prabhat Kumar Sahu, legal practitioner Mr. Manoranjan Mishra, and senior citizen Mr. Rabindra Kumar Mishra, among others. The event was attended by lawyers, intellectuals, social activists, and media representatives. 
The program commenced with floral tributes to Madhusudan Das’s portrait, followed by a solemn rendition of "Bande Utkal Janani" in unison. The gathering reinforced the collective resolve to safeguard Odisha’s cultural legacy and indivisible unity.
