Odagaon, Nayagarh: On the occasion of Earth Day, celebrated worldwide to protect Mother Earth, the leading voluntary organization Aaro Meera Trust organized an event at the natural tourist site Sadhu Santh Peeth and Sri Aurobindo Purnanga Shiksha Kendra in Kural.
The program, chaired by the center's president, Santosh Kumar Sahoo, began with a discussion circle. The organization's secretary and nature enthusiast, Sukant Choudhury, inaugurated the event by offering water to the sacred trees (Vriksha Devata). He emphasized the importance of protecting the Pancha Mahabhutas (five elements of nature) and inspired students through songs, stories, and slogans, instilling a sense of environmental responsibility. The students also took an oath to protect nature.
Later, the students marched around the nearby area, chanting eco-friendly slogans. The event concluded with the distribution of nutritious Mandia Ladoo (Milet sweet). The program was successfully conducted with the support of teachers Bhabani Mahanti, Sumitra Maharana, and Avanti Pani Grahi.
