Nuagaon, Nayagarh District: The Nuagaon Block administration successfully organized the 78th Independence Day celebrations with great enthusiasm and pride. The event took place at the heart of the Nuagaon sub-division in Nayagarh district. The day started on a melodious note with the villagers singing the patriotic hymn "Raghupati Raghav" during a Ram Dhun procession in the early hours of the morning
The celebrations were widespread, involving schools, panchayats, various clubs, and educational institutions across the block. The sense of unity and patriotism was palpable as students from different schools, dressed in their uniforms and holding the Tricolour, marched through the villages chanting "Bande Mataram" The morning procession, which began at Nuagaon High School, was joined by students from Nuagaon and other local institutions. The vibrant parade eventually made its way to the Nuagaon Block premises.
At the Nuagaon Block headquarters, the Block Development Officer (BDO), Basudev Nayak, hoisted the national flag. In his speech, he highlighted the government's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by schools and Anganwadi centers, promising swift action to ensure the progress of students. He also emphasized the significance of Independence Day, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the importance of continuing to uphold their legacy.
The celebrations continued with a block-level competition at the Nuagaon High School grounds, where the Block Chairperson, Laxmipriya Behera, also hoisted the Tricolour. Students from various schools participated in a parade competition, showcasing their discipline and patriotism. Earlier, several other competitions were held in honor of Independence Day, and the winners were awarded prizes during the event.
The day concluded with cultural performances by the students, including dance and yoga displays, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region. Bhimasen Das, the Headmaster of Nuagaon High School, expressed his gratitude to all the officials and participants for making the event a grand success.
