Kendumundi, Mayurbhanj, July 5, (Report- Karttik Behera): A large tree fell on the National Highway near Kendumundi on Sunday. The fallen tree blocked the road and stopped traffic for several hours. Hundreds of vehicles waited in long lines on both sides of the highway, and passengers faced many delays.
Traffic stopped for about three to four hours. Office workers, patients, children, and long-distance travelers waited on the road. Trucks, buses, and cars stood in long queues.
Fire department workers received the news and quickly reached the spot. They used cutting machines to cut the tree and move it away from the road. Their efforts cleared the highway, and traffic returned to normal.
Local people shared their thoughts on the problem. They suggested that officials should check old trees near the highway during the rainy season. They advised the authorities to trim or remove unsafe trees to stop such problems in the future.
