Sinapali, 15/05 (Report- Malaya Meher): The boundary wall of the Block Education Officer (BEO) office in Sinapali of Nuapada district has now turned dangerously unsafe, creating fear and concern among the local residents. Large cracks have appeared at several places on the wall, while some portions are reportedly on the verge of collapse. Despite the alarming condition, no immediate steps have been taken by the administration, raising serious questions among the public.
Every day, hundreds of people, including students of PM SHRI High School, Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, and Rising Sun Public School, pass through this road. During school hours, especially at dispersal time, the area remains crowded with schoolchildren. Locals fear that if the wall collapses unexpectedly, it could lead to a major accident.
The photographs clearly show deep cracks on both sides of the main gate. On one side, the pressure from a large tree and its roots has weakened the structure significantly, while on the other side, long visible cracks indicate that the wall may collapse at any moment. The accumulation of garbage and the neglected surroundings near the wall have further worsened the situation.
What has surprised many residents is that the office is located barely 200 meters away from the official residence of the Block Development Officer (BDO), yet the dangerous condition of the wall has seemingly escaped the attention of the administration. This has now become a major topic of discussion in the locality.
“Will the administration act only after an accident occurs?” questioned several locals, demanding immediate repair or reconstruction of the boundary wall along with proper safety measures.
Keeping public safety in mind, intellectuals and residents of the area have urged the administration to take urgent and permanent action before the situation turns tragic.
